Why do I need a baby care class?

It is all well and good to read the baby books, but actually bathing a wiggly baby is very different to reading about it! Childbirth is a short time in your journey as a family. There is an incredible amount of adjustment that comes along with the inclusion of a newborn, and we want to make you as educated as possible to manage the transition.

Won’t the nurses heLp me in the hospital?

Hospital nurses are wonderful, but often they are busy and your time in the hospital is limited. (also- you are healing from labor and delivery or caring for your partner) Educate yourself prior to delivery so you are prepared from the first minute!

Why new parent network?

After years of seeing gaps in education for families, we want to find creative and accessible ways to fill them! Families deserve the best care, most up to date information, and best friends to help in this transition.

Can’t I just ask my friends?

You can! But are your friends experienced nurses with multiple kids who have seen everything? If they are- you’re very lucky! And if not- we are your friends with all the kindness, compassion and care! (and evidence-based backing!)

What are the additional benefits to a private class at my home?

With a private class we are able to be more flexible and specific. We can discuss childproofing, guidance on what supplies you need and where, safe sleep overview in your own nursery, help with car seats, help with strollers, help with diapering, and help with bathing. An in person private class before delivery establishes our connection so you feel comfortable contacting us after, and an in person class after birth gives us time to help your transition. Any time gives you the opportunity to ask all your questions! Additionally, bring everyone involved in the care of the baby! (Nanny, grandparents, and friends)

Should I have a doula?

Birth is a highly emotional and personal time, and we will always believe you should have around you exactly who makes you feel safe and cared for at this time.

Private in home baby care after the baby is born! (When you’re tired, have forgotten everything we taught you before, and need reassurance that you’re doing a wonderful job!)
